Facebook fan, Josephine, asked us to find her a statement necklace for a company holiday party. We're on it, Josephine!
She's wearing this gorgeous Hero dress from Harput's Own. The A-line, bold red, cape (!), and straight neckline make it an interesting piece to accessorize, but we found pieces from Unique Indie that we think you'll love.
1 - Solar Quartz Necklace by Peggy Li Creations
This pendant draws me in with the white, black, and hint of green in the center of this piece of quartz. It's about 1" wide so it would stand out just enough against the red dress, but let some of that red show through. It's framed in a free floating gold plated bezel with a 14k gold chain. This is also easy to wear with any other outfit, such as a simple white tee.
2. Chunky Curb Necklace from Peggy Li Creations
This wide plated brass necklace has a great chunky industrial appeal. At first I was leaning towards the dual gold plate style, but after seeing the mixed metal pieces - I think gold + gunmetal FTW!
3 - Vintage Crystal and Chain Necklace by Scorpion Sisters
I kinda flipped out when I saw this piece because I'm a sucker for blang. I immediately made it the main feature on Unique Indie's homepage. This piece is one-of-a-kind. The Scorpion Sisters specialize in reclaiming vintage jewelry pieces and using these components to create something new. They often say this is giving these pieces a second chance. The crystal portion was painstakingly cleaned and if you look closely at the chain, you'l notice the top half is actually a different piece from the bottom half. It's like this piece's little secret.
4. Double Lens + Textile Necklace by Kelly Nedderman
This one is a real work of art. Kelly's an award-winning metalsmith and specializes in wearable sculptures. This piece is created from vintage eyeglass lenses framing paper textile of her own creation. Fun fact: she's also a professional textile designer and creates the designs for a lot of the brands we know & love.
How do you think I did? Out of these 4, which is your favorite?
Hope I was able to help you out a bit, Josephine!
Janet
